Perhaps the greatest wrestling wedding of all time, Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth deserves a mention on this list because it was genuinely heartwarming. It’s relevant here because Jay Lethal in 2008 was not just doing his best Randy Savage impression but mirroring Macho’s wedding drip in a shining gold suit and hat.

At Slammiversary that year, Lethal and girlfriend So Cal Val were due to tie the knot. However, after months of teasing it, Lethal’s friend Sonjay Dutt finally put himself in the way of the marriage by making his feelings known. He couldn’t allow his friend to marry Val because he himself was in love with her.

This resulted in Lethal getting part of the scenery cracked across his back and then, as was the TNA style at times, an intensely overbooked series of run-ins that were all dependent on wrestling nostalgia. The wedding party took to the ring to take on Dutt, including Ace Young, Koko B Ware and Kamala.

It reached new levels of absurd as the segment went off the air, Sonjay having Jake Roberts’ python dropped on him as George “The Animal” Steel chowed down on a turnbuckle.

Wrestling weddings are always weird but this was like unloading the contents of a circus into the proceedings.
