The McMahon family has been compared to The Sopranos, mostly for the mob like environment of professional wrestling and the crazy storylines that center on the family every week on TV. However in 2007, the McMahons became more like The Sopranos than perhaps ever before. It was on June 11 of that year when Vince got into his limo at the end of Monday Night Raw and as soon as he did, the car suddenly exploded into flames. The moment was completely unexpected of course and the company even declared Vince dead after the apparent car bombing took place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iCFrgU0HDA Fans all over the world watched the next week as the company continued to pursue the storyline on TV as the meaning behind it became very clear very quickly. This was to be a whodunit of epic proportions, a "who shot JR" from Dallas, told among the backdrop of WWE. However, the angle was not fully realized as Chris Benoit shockingly murdered his family and killed himself, leading to WWE dropping the whole thing. Who knows where the storyline may have gone had that incident not happened? The fact that the McMahons would do such an insane stunt in the first place only cemented the fact that they are indeed capable of anything at anytime. The fact is that as long as the McMahon family is running WWE, the shocks and surprises will continue.
