"Nakamura! Nakamura! Nakamura!"

That was the chant booming down from the stands when Shinsuke interrupted The Miz and Maryse on the 4 April 2017 edition of SmackDown to make his WWE main roster debut. As a firm favourite on NXT, it was hoped that Nakamura could ride the wave of euphoria all the way to the bigger shows.

Things haven't worked out for him long-term, but he got off to a hot start by invading 'Miz and Mrs' as they parodied John Cena and Nikki Bella's 'Mania 33 engagement. After sitting through that (admittedly entertaining) skit, fans were crying out to see something special. They got it with Naka's grinning mug.

WWE were smart not to give a match away quickly here. They tried to build some anticipation towards Shinsuke's first main roster match at Backlash instead. It's just a shame that came in exhibition fashion against Dolph Ziggler rather than a proper feud.
