10 Most Shocking Wrestling Heel Turns
3. Bischoff And Hogan Get Their Man
Jeff Hardy's 2010 heel turn should probably be placed in the same category as Stone Cold's a decade earlier - and perhaps it's a little worse, actually, because TNA, more so than its competitor, was in desperate need of a leading face to spearhead the battle to become a legitimate ratings rival to WWE.
The Charismatic Enigma, booked in a three-way TNA Championship match with Kurt Angle and Mr Andeson, looked to be preparing a deserved attack on Eric Bischoff, but - shockingly - instead used the crutch Hogan gave him to attack his opponents, and seal a dubious title win in the process.
Considering that Hardy was made by TNA's new management regime to jump through hoops in order to earn a place in the Bound For Glory main event, this really did come out of nowhere - almost as though it was only dreamed up on the eve of the show.
But Bischoff-Hogan era TNA has already taken enough flak for its nonsensical booking and the shameful way it sidelined those who brought them to the big time in the firstp lace. They deserve at least a modicum of credit here for what was a genuinely shocking twist, albeit one that perhaps did little to unseat Vince McMahon.
