10 Most Under-Rated ECW PPV Matches

7. Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn (Guilty As Charged 2001)

Longtime ECW fans may be scratching their heads at this one, because matches between Jerry Lynn and Rob Van Dam were heralded at the time as classics in the company. Indeed, it's true that bouts at Living Dangerously 1999 and both Hardcore Heaven events in 1999 and 2000 were tremendous, but they also take much of the praise in the rivalry between both men. That's not entirely fair, because their last ever ECW showdown was also quite the display. Fans knew exactly what they were going to get whenever Lynn and Van Dam locked horns, at least 15-20 minutes of quite wonderful wrestling. Given RVD's style, the matches can be quite heavily reliant on stringing spots together rather than psychology, but that doesn't invalidate the enjoyment of them. At Guilty As Charged 2001, it was nice to see Van Dam and Lynn finally get to main event a pay-per-view together. 7 months later, they'd meet on a throwaway WWF Sunday Night Heat show, a complete contrast to the rip-roaring action in ECW. At the time, Lynn was also working as a heel, something which helped freshen up the interaction between both men.
