10 Most Underrated ECW Revival Championship Matches

Not everything about WWE's ECW revival was completely terrible...

Once ECW's popularity soared to levels that couldn't be ignored, Vince McMahon gave into the fans' demands in mid-2006 when he relaunched the promotion as a third WWE brand. Unfortunately, it never came close to matching the magic the original ECW created. From the debut of The Zombie to Mr. McMahon winning the ECW Championship to the disastrous December To Dismember pay-per-view, there were several signs that indicated the ECW experiment was doomed to fail, and frankly it came as no surprise when it ultimately. did. In February 2010, ECW closed its doors to make way for a "groundbreaking, original show," NXT. By then it no longer served a purpose as WWE's signature "C-show", but it still had its redeeming qualities, focusing less on the hardcore elements and more on the future, providing a platform for up-and-coming stars such as CM Punk, Sheamus and Jack Swagger. Seasoned veterans including Christian and Matt Hardy were also given a chance to revitalize their careers and prove they could still hang with the young guns, and the result was some of the best (and often underrated) matches in WWE from 2007 to 2010. It's time to relive those glories...
