1. CM Punk vs. John Morrison (ECW: September 4, 2007)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy2gSlOcrOU Unquestionably the biggest star to come out of ECW, Punk debuted on the brand in August 2006 and fought an uphill battle his entire time there. After solidifying himself as a legitimate threat to the title, he entered the ECW Championship picture the following summer, chasing John Morrison for the belt. Punk came close to winning the strap during each of their encounters, but Morrison always found a way to come out on top. Although they were both great on their own, they never produced the best of matches together. Whether it was lack of in-ring chemistry or just time constraints, their matches on pay-per-view were never any good. However, when the Second City Saint was given one last shot at the gold on the Sept. 4 edition of ECW, something clicked. Perhaps it was the suspense from knowing this could finally be the night Punk won the big one (word had already gotten out Morrison was suspended for 30 days for violating the Wellness Policy). Whatever it was, it enhanced the match significantly, making this not only the best bout they ever contested but the best ECW Championship match in WWE history. As Punk hoisted Morrison up on his shoulders for the Go To Sleep, the Cincinnati crowd rose to their feet in anticipation for what was about to happen. As he connected with his signature maneuver and covered him for the three count, the fans in attendance exploded in elation.
