2. Hulk Hogan vs. Yokozuna (WWF Title - WrestleMania IX)
Winning the 1993 Royal Rumble outright, it was clear that Vince McMahon had high hopes for his new heel monster, Yokozuna. The way the big man had eliminated the legendary Randy Savage from the Rumble, pressing him from a pinning position over the top rope, made him look very strong, but Hulk Hogan would wash all that build away at WrestleMania IX. A lot of fans don't have fond memories of the 1993 edition of 'Mania, feeling it didn't really have a lot of satisfactory matches to make it worthwhile. There's a certain nostalgia which comes from looking back at the event, but it should really have ended once Yokozuna had defeated Bret Hart to win the WWF Title. Instead, Hogan made his presence felt, and Mr. Fuji would nonsensically challenge Hulk on behalf of Yoko. A few minutes later, red and yellow fever was on top of the WWF once more, as Hulk Hogan reigned supreme with the WWF Title all over again. Surely this was the kind of thing that should have been avoided, as it did nothing for Yokozuna, and Hulk would depart the company by the Summer months.
