With five championship clashes on the card, I guess you could say that WWE Clash of Champions at least lived up to its billing in a literal sense.

In all seriousness though, if we look beyond the abundance of screwy finishes, this was actually a pretty decent show. From top to bottom, there wasn’t really a bad match on the card. Even those showdowns being rehashed for the umpteenth time—such as the Tag Team Championship bout or Sheamus vs. Cesaro—turned out to be much better than many might have expected.

All in all, it provided us with a fairly action-packed show—but more importantly it provided a number of new directions for the company to pursue.

From new title challengers to fresh character developments, this article delves into some of the options available to WWE in light of this Sunday’ pay-per-view, as we count down ten new directions for the company after Clash of Champions.

This Tag Team Championship feud between the New Day and Gallows & Anderson has been going on for quite some time—not that you’ll need reminding of that fact though.

Since the start of August, Gallows and Anderson have faced off against various combinations of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods on a number of occasions, with this match-up at Clash of Champions marking the fourth meeting between the two sides.

Admittedly not every single one of those matches featured the tag titles on the line, but even so; if you’ve nothing to show for your efforts after four matches against the champions, it’s probably time to give up trying.

Bottom line; now seems like the ideal time to shake up the Raw tag team division.

On paper, Enzo & Cass would be the standout choice for a shot at the gold, but then again, with the New Day fast-approaching Demolition’s 478-day World Tag Team Championship reign, you get the impression that the company could be planning to have them usurp that record. In which case, don’t be surprised to see them feed someone like the Shining Stars to the New Day in something of a filler feud as the champions march on to record-breaking territory.
