WWE: 10 Opponents For Brock Lesnar’s Traditional Extreme Rules Appearance
10. The Undertaker
The recent rumors surrounding Undertaker's willingness to drop the streak to Brock back in 2010 (when Brock was still in UFC) notwithstanding, whose hand would be raised at their WrestleMania XXX match has never been in doubt. While the build up has been tepid and uninspiring, due primarily to the inability to suspend disbelief that Taker may actually lose to Brock and the way they've booked him to look so dominant in the lead-up, the match itself is still a spectacle. It's baffling that WWE has refused to acknowledge past matches between the two, especially considering Brock's record vs. Undertaker would legitimize him as more of a threat to the streak. Nevertheless, since the end result to the WrestleMania match held zero suspense, a rematch at Extreme Rules would serve to help rebuild Brock into the monster that he needs to be in order to be truly effective. Since returning to WWE, Lesnar's record is barely above .500. You can't have an immovable obstacle if half the people can move it. Have Heyman declare Brock's loss a fluke, citing his previously stellar record against Undertakr when Taker was much younger and still in his prime. Issue a challenge for a rematch at Extreme Rules without the legacy of the streak empowering Undertaker and have Taker begrudgingly accept. The two can then do battle once more (for likely the final time) with Brock going over to build him strong for his next program. There's no reason for an Undertaker victory as he probably won't wrestle again until WrestleMania XXXI. F5 him back into the darkness and we'll see you next March.
