10 Past WrestleMania Main Events Worse Than Reigns Vs. Triple H

It's bad but it's been worse...

Is Roman Reigns vs. Triple H the most underwhelming WrestleMania main event in WWE history? If you ask any of the jaded fans that tune into Raw, SmackDown and pay-per-view events in 2016, they will be quick to tell you the answer is an emphatic, "no!" A closer look at WWE history tells us, though, that The Showcase of the Immortals is littered with marquee matches that were lackluster or ineffective. They are matches that may have sentimental value to fans but were hardly strong, 'Mania-worthy bouts on paper. Dating back to the heyday of Hulk Hogan, advancing through the championship reign of Bret "Hitman" Hart and engulfing the rule of Sycho Sid, there have been several editions of the biggest show of the year headlined by matches that had no business in that spot. A match with strong storyline support dating back to the fall, featuring two Superstars who tend to deliver when doubters question their ability to rise to the occasion, Reigns versus Triple H figures to silence the critics by delivering the marquee match fans deserve. So quit your complaining and take a stroll down memory lane with these 10 WrestleMania main events that were much more uninspiring than the 2016 offering.
