10 Predictions For NXT After TakeOver: Toronto
6. Mickie Sticks Around
Most fans weren't sure what to make of the announcement that Mickie James would return in Toronto to face Asuka for the Women's Championship. There was excitement at the prospect of a former star making her return to the WWE but there were also questions about the level to which she could perform.
Mickie put those fears to bed when she more than held her own against one of the best female performers on the planet in a tightly-fought contest. Interestingly Mickie and Asuka had a stare-down at the end of the match which should lead us to believe there is unfinished business and maybe a rematch on the cards.
But even beyond a rematch James has shown she still possesses great value to the company, and rather than maintaining a hold on the title scene Mickie could take the time to work on TV with some of the up-and-coming talent. Outside of Asuka and Ember Moon the female division in NXT hasn't generated much buzz and putting Mickie in a feud with one of the less experienced wrestlers would be a perfect way to elevate them.
