1. Exit Strategy?

Every team breaks up. It’s the nature of the wrestling business. There are simply too many incentives to being a singles superstar. Countless accolades to be pursued and achieved. The tag team division is simplistic in that once you’ve become tag team champion, you’ve basically accomplished all you can.

Sure you can attempt to win the most tag team titles in WWE history, or you can attempt to win the tag team titles with more partners than anybody ever has, but at the end of the day, the tag team championship is the only prize that exists for tag teams.

Knowing this, it’s baffling that 99% of tag team break ups are hostile. Both guys should know that eventually their team will end. In fact every team should have an exit strategy planned early on in their partnership. One where both embers go their separate ways in amicable fashion to pursue their individual goals.

No member of any tag team should ever be under the impression that what they’re doing will last forever, because it most certainly will not. It’s an uncomfortable question, but at least one member of every team should be man enough to ask their partner “when do you see us ending this?”.

In most cases, one partner is either too nice to bring up the subject, while the other is planning their hostile secession, unbeknownst to their partner.

What are some other questions tag team partners should ask each other? What makes up a perfect tag team to you? Which member of the WWE’s current tag teams is currently plotting their hostile secession from the unit? Sound off in the comments!
