10 Roster Trades WWE MUST Make In 2021
2. KUSHIDA To SmackDown
This could easily not work because Vince McMahon has a spotty track record when it comes to booking Japanese superstars. However, KUSHIDA proved for years in New Japan that he was one of the premier junior heavyweight wrestlers in the world, eventually leaving because he wasn't promoted to heavyweight after years of hard work in the division. In NXT, his opportunities have been smaller than a man of his talent and charisma deserves, but he's proven his versatility, technical prowess and ability to work with any opponent.
In particular, he delivered exceptionally well in a David vs Goliath battle with the gigantic WALTER: a match that's proof of his impeccable psychology, selling and sadistic moveset. His submission specialities and wrestling acumen would make him perfect for Smackdown, where he could hopefully lock up with men like Daniel Bryan or Sami Zayn. KUSHIDA's naturally lovable yet intense personality as a worker would make him a great dark horse candidate for Roman Reigns' Universal Championship if he was booked right.
If he stays in NXT, hopefully he'll be given the chance to truly make an impact, but he's already 37 and should be spending his prime years doing the best work he can.
