10 Secret Wrestling Retcons You DEFINITELY Don't Remember

1. The Original nWo Logo

Blink and you'll miss it.

That was the case with the original nWo logo on WCW programming in 1996. Outsiders duo Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were riding high as incoming rebels looking to tear the promotion down when the motif you see on Kev's back above started appearing. It wasn't on the back of his leather outfit for too long.

New World Order's initial look was a little too '1970s news bulletin' for the fledgling group anyway. It had the letters 'N' and 'W' joined together then encased in a giant 'O', but it was nowhere near as edgy as the logo you've come to know and love since. Thankfully, someone made the call to change that one up pronto.

As a result, the original logo wasn't on TV long enough to be memorable. It's why even some of WCW's most diehard fans have forgotten all about it. That screenshot is from the 12 August 1996 edition of Nitro, which occurred more than a full month after Hulk Hogan turned heel to help form the group.

You don't remember it because it's never really brought up.
