10 Shocking On Air Wrestling Burials

8. Billionaire Ted Skits

In 1996, the WWF's 'New Generation' movement was well underway, as the company looked to distance themselves from the plethora of top names who had moved sideways to WCW. Amongst those top stars, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage were perhaps the most prominent, but some ill-advised segments would confuse a lot of fans and waste a whole load of air time. Having a pop at Ted Turner, cast as the bumbling 'Billionaire Ted' was silly enough, but Vince McMahon and his merry band of creative goons couldn't stop there, they couldn't resist a pop at Hogan and Savage, both of whom had been evil enough to ply their trade elsewhere. 'The Huckster' and the 'Nacho Man' were born, infamously featuring in terrible comedy skits which only made the WWF look bad, and didn't really change opinions on either Hulk or Randy over in WCW, who were producing some of the best stuff of their respective careers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sCTi31Z2jA The joke wore thin after just a few seconds, poking fun at the age of these former WWF Heavyweight Champions. The segments were largely embarrassing for WWE, and even more so given that Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame at a later date, and Savage is set to follow in 2015.
