10 Shocking WWE Angles That Crossed The Line

In 2002, Kane was embroiled in a feud with Triple H, which would eventually lead to a "title vs. title" bout at No Mercy, where the IC Title would be unified with the World Heavyweight Championship. All in all, a pretty cool angle on paper.

However, WWE would transform the simple angle and make it, not only convoluted, but outright offensive. In typical WWE fashion, they delved deep into Kane's his fictional history - that already involved death and arson - and came up with something even more outlandish... and immediately regrettable.

As a means of getting inside his opponent's head, Triple H claimed to know a "secret" from Kane's past. That "secret" turned out to be the death of Katie Vick, Kane's apparent girlfriend from a decade earlier. WrestleCrap if there ever was, but bearable at a stretch. Sadly, it got much worse.

Two weeks later, Triple H showed "footage" of Vick's funeral. In reality, it was Triple H in a funeral home, wearing a Kane mask that eventually descended into simulated sex with a corpse. After a barrage of complaints, WWE was forced to downplay the angle at the PPV, with no mention of the "funeral" segment thereafter.

Wrestling has a lot of leeway when it comes to outlandish storylines, but this one proved that necrophilia is too much even for WWE.
