Hopefully, the real magic of this match may not yet be evident.

Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre's rinse/repeat of the Goldberg/Braun Strowman match a night prior felt like a letdown for what they'd both actually be capable of together, but this well-trodden formula at very least saved them picking up injuries, and may have saved the best of what they could do for a brighter day.

Lesnar has been Claymore'd into defeat now, with McIntyre surviving the F5 to further position him as greater than or equal to 'The Beast' in the heat of battle. But the war probably isn't over.

The prospect of these two eventually going 15-20 minutes in front of a red hot crowd is a thrilling reminder of how it felt when McIntyre won the Royal Rumble in January. This was the formal anointment, but the new Champion's reign won't really begin until there are a*ses in seats to make it feel real.
