10 Strangest Articles That Ever Appeared In WWE Magazine
1. WWE Mocks Kurt Angle For Signing With TNA
WWE and Kurt Angle didn’t part ways amicably. Angle was hooked on painkillers from the many injuries he picked up wrestling night after night for WWE and even nearly got into an actual fight with Vince McMahon on his way out of the company. When he signed with their competition at the time TNA after leaving, writers for WWE Magazine went after Kurt in a very petty way.
The January 2007 edition of WWE Magazine featured an awards section for 2006, where they remarkably mocked ‘The Wrestling Machine’ Kurt Angle for signing with TNA the previous September. WWE usually has the mandate of completely ignoring ex-employees of the company but made an exception for Kurt. They awarded him with the ‘Good Riddance Award’ alongside a picture of him sarcastically dressed like Einstein, with the commentary "What's the best way to re-invent yourself? Walk out at the peak of your career! Worked wonders for Lex Luger and Randy Savage."
Not only did they ridicule Angle, they insulted Luger and Macho Man for good measure. It showed you just how much Angle competing for TNA got under WWE’s skin.
