10 Superstars That Hit Rock Bottom After WWE

Life on the road as a WWE superstar is a tough existence. We, as fans, see these larger than life personas on our television screens every week and immediately think they are extremely well paid with $1,000,000 homes to go to. Sadly for most this is far from the case. The majority need to be frugal with their earnings because, as we know, the career of a WWE superstar is a short one, ending on average after three years. Don't get us wrong, the majority of stars we see on Raw and Smackdown are very well paid, but there is one entity that they are more susceptible to than injuries in the ring. That entity is time. Wrestlers have a mountain of time to kill while they are travelling the world and how they spend that time dictates their livelihoods. They are constantly waiting around in airports, hotel rooms and arenas and more often than not, especially during wrestling's boom of the late 90s, the superstars we knew and loved turned to drink and drugs, a dangerous habit many succumb to. Stone Cold Steve Austin frequently talks about how there was two main groups in the WWE locker room, the drink guys and the drug guys. Austin, a drink guy back in the day, has managed to forge a successful presenting career away from the ring. But as we're about to see, life without the spandex proves to be tough for some well known faces.
