One of the most naturally gifted athletes on the roster should be relatively simple enough to get over with the right feud or gimmick, but for some reason Apollo's still not quite clicking. Perhaps it's because he got brought up so quickly from NXT, or maybe it's that Smiley Dude Who Flips And Lifts isn't quite cutting it to a cynical audience, but the tools are there, and 2017 is the time to make it happen.
Booking Idea: Have him lose a few matches on the main roster, get frustrated, have an argument with Daniel Bryan and then storm off. A few weeks later, have him turn up in NXT and absolutely butcher the current NXT champion (our vote is a recently turned face Bobby Roode), becoming a monster heel who can crush all-comers. Give him a big run in NXT so that when he comes back up to the main roster again, he's legit. It'll work! Trust us!
