10 Things That Must Happen Ahead Of WWE Fastlane 2017
9. Sami Zayn Gets His Hands On Samoa Joe
Though it hasn’t yet been officially announced, Sami Zayn vs. Samoa Joe looks likely to be made for Fastlane. Zayn was blindside by Joe after his match with Rusev on Raw this week, and with his assailant’s intended opponent Seth Rollins currently out of action, Zayn appears to be the man to step up to the plate in his place.
That’s all well and good, but if we want to take Zayn seriously as a viable replacement then he needs to get one up on Joe ahead of their prospective match.
In recent weeks, Zayn has been made out to look like a bit of a chump. From being totally blanked in that awkward backstage segment with Roman Reigns and Rollins on Raw, to his fruitless performance in the Royal Rumble, where he lasted a pedestrian 47 minutes without racking up a single elimination—Zayn’s come off as something of a loser as of late.
Beating Rusev this past week was a step in the right direction, but getting his hands on Joe and repaying him for last week’s attack would be a good way to stop the rut and give him some ever-welcome credibility ahead of a probable showdown with Joe at Fastlane.
