2. Goldberg And Owens Come Face-to-Face

That being said, the following week’s showing of Raw—the go-home episode before Fastlane—needs to be reserved exclusively for Kevin Owens and Goldberg.

The problem with having two concurrent feuds for Goldberg is that it runs the risk of one overshadowing the other. So, if Lesnar and Heyman appear next week to hype their WrestleMania date, it’s only fair that the following week’s show places Owens and Goldberg firmly in the spotlight. Plus, that 27 February showing of Raw is the only one Goldberg’s been announced for ahead of Fastlane.

Suddenly, that means it’s looking essential that some kind of interaction between champion and challenger closes out that show—although it doesn’t necessarily have to be a physical one.

Given the way Goldberg’s fared against Lesnar in recent weeks and months, he’s just about untouchable right now, and so it would be well within the realm of reason for Owens to simply back out of a pre-Fastlane scuffle with his PPV opponent. Although, if Goldberg then goes on to squash him at the show—as he’s very likely to end up doing—fans may well take exception to Owens' feeble booking.

Then again, being trounced by Goldberg seems a fair comeuppance for his actions at the Festival of Friendship...
