Most wrestling fans know the story of Paul Heyman's belief in one Phil 'CM Punk' Brooks. Put into Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2005, Punk was a wrestler that definitely split opinion within the WWE system. According to Heyman, many just didn't like him, turning their noses up at his unique look and outspoken attitude.

Incredibly, whilst working in OVW, Heyman was given Punk and pretty much told to fire him. There was no heavy hints dropped about this, management flat out told the former ECW boss that he was to can CM Punk so that those in charge of the main roster didn't have to deal with him.

Luck was on Punk's side, because Heyman really believed in him. Relentlessly pushing for his promotion to the top shows, Paul eventually got his wish, taking Punk under his wing and guiding his career from behind the scenes.

Things could have been very different in WWE history had someone else been assigned the task of dealing with CM Punk. No 'Pipebomb Promo', no lengthy title reign and no 'Straight Edge Saviour'.
