On the 8 April episode of NXT, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa worked a 48-minute main event that didn't please everybody tuning in. As it turns out, that headliner was filmed before either night of WrestleMania 36 - Triple H confirmed that on 'After The Bell'.

He said that Gargano and Ciampa had free rein to do whatever they pleased, and they didn't have to follow up on anything that happened at 'Mania. In fact, those matches hadn't even been shot yet, so the NXT stars didn't have to be mindful of stepping on any toes.

Good to know.

An "editing backlog" stopped WWE from releasing the match earlier. That's an interesting piece of insight; Triple H's words suggest that Gargano vs. Ciampa was actually supposed to be on a previous show, but things were so manic that WWE postponed it.
