10 Things We Need To See Post-WWE Summerslam 2022
8. Fresh Tag Matches
The Usos vs Street Profits match at SummerSlam was, unsurprisingly, excellent. The bout flew by, everyone got their stuff in, the right team probably won. The problematic word, though, is “unsurprisingly” - at this point we’ve seen these teams tear it up again and again, and the division desperately needs refreshing.
Vince McMahon famously didn’t care for tag team wrestling - as such, this is the perfect time for a revamp. There are teams with potential - the Viking Raiders are working an interesting angle, Alpha Academy have the in-ring goods if they’re used seriously.
Beyond that, though, we need numbers, and fresh ideas. Pulling the Creed Brothers up from NXT wouldn’t be unwelcome, and there’s surely something to be had among the many great wrestlers kicking their heels - Nakamura, Ricochet, many more besides.
That’s not even getting into the mess in the women’s roster (though Bayley’s stable might help with this). The mainstays of WWE’s tag division have been doing exceptional work, but they can’t be expected to hold down the fort forever.
