When Wade Barrett started doing the "Bad News Barrett" thing on the JBL & Cole show on Youtube it was done as a comedy bit. Barrett wasn't on TV a whole lot, so it was a way to get him out there. Credit him for realizing that it could lead to something more. Barrett won his 4th Intercontinental Title by defeating Big E at Extreme Rules. Is it really an upgrade for him to hold a title he's already had three times? On the surface it may not seem like a big deal, but it's better than doing nothing like he was for most of 2013. There are about 20 guys on the roster that would like to be in his spot too. The positive about this IC Title reign is that due to the fact that there's only one World Title now, the IC Title has more value than it did when Barrett held it before. It's all about the booking, though. It needs to be booked like a prestigious title again because if it's not then holding it will hurt him just like it has for a lot of people the last few years. There is some concern over what happens next to Big E since he's lost the momentum he's once had, but Barrett is on the right path again.
