10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Paul Heyman

2. He Forced Undertaker To Bury Paul Bearer In Cement

It's one of the stupidest angles that WWE ever did. Having to relive this one sucks because the people involved were all so talented, but sometimes not even the greatest performers can overcome terrible writing. In the spring of 2004, Heyman convinced the Dudley Boys (his old friends from ECW) to turn heel. They ended up abducting Paul Bearer by tossing him in their trunk and taking off. At the time, Bearer was managing the babyface Undertaker. Heyman ended up with the urn and had control of the Undertaker. All of this led to a tag match that was the main event of the 2004 Great American Bash PPV. It was a terrible show with Undertaker beating the Dudley Boys in the main event. It was more about the angle, though. Heyman had Paul Bearer trapped inside of a glass case with cement in it. He was going to push a button to bury him in it, but instead Undertaker ended up doing it because Heyman still had the power of the urn. Undertaker ended up pulling the lever to bury Bearer in the cement because he was forced to. The angle was controversial because WWE made it look like Bearer died in the cement, but then they released a statement saying he was okay after all. It was still a terrible way to end the PPV and really was a bad angle that everybody wants to forget.
