10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bayley

Basic Huganomics.

Bayley 2019

RIP wacky waving inflatable tube guys, and RIP 'Girl Next Door' mediocrity.

Bayley, previously one of WWE's most intolerably half-baked and overlooked characters, has changed up her look, attitude and now has genuine hope. The cold facial expressions she wears, the Winona Ryder-esque new hairstyle and the 180-degree turn by creative on how to book her gives the once-flimsy hugger a future.

The update was long overdue, but at least it happened eventually. The truth is though, this gimmick refresh didn't come soon enough to prevent Bayley from living a near three-year post-NXT hell of uninspired writing, false starts and some of the worst angles in recent wrestling history. All of that became too much for some fans to bear, and they voted with a toxic mix of apathy and occasional outbursts of rebellion between 2016-19.

WWE have a lot to gloss over if they're going to mend Bayley's fractured main roster run and shine a pleasing spotlight on in-ring skills and passion for the biz that are all-too-often misrepresented. Screw Bray Wyatt for now, because it's Bayley who needs to move on from "Hurt" and focus on how to "Heal"...
