10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Jimmy Snuka

8. Jimmy Snuka Drew Money With Andre The Giant, Too

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdMD11mTKC0 Ole Anderson's 1982 booking run in Georgia Championship Wrestling is intriguing if only because Ole was wise enough to open the door to talent exchanges with both World Class, as well as numerous other territories. As well, he had access to dates with Andre the Giant, Ric Flair and a ton more. In fact, if looking for a harbinger of what the 80s WWF was to be, it's almost certain that aside from Memphis, Vince Jr. definitely looked at Georgia (so much in fact that he bought their TV time two years later...) But in Georgia you get amazing things happening like the Fabulous Freebirds splitting as Michael Hayes became a top babyface and his kayfabe "brother" Terry Gordy being a top heel. Bringing in Jimmy Snuka from Mid-Atlantic as a heel to pair with Gordy and putting top babyface Andre with Hayes, they drew money as a main event at The Omni. So, while yes, Andre drew huge money at Wrestlemania III with Hulk Hogan, it was because of all of the times he drew money both with and against people like Jimmy Snuka that he was able to make the big payday in 1987.
