10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Ryback

The Big Guy's most buffoonish botches - in and out of the ring.

Poor old Ryback. Nobody makes pro wrestling look quite as hard as the Big Guy, especially when running through his (meticulously rehearsed) in-ring entrance, or half-botching a simple brawling sequence. His promos are intense as hell, but if you ignore all the heavy breathing, you can see real panic in those clear blue eyes. It's safe to assume that, at any point, an embarrassing moment is just around the corner. It's therefore not much of a surprise that Ryback's career has been littered with incidents WWE would rather keep under wraps. However, it might be a surprise to learn that not all of these revolve around in-ring botches or fluffed promo lines. Admittedly, quite a few are, but he's had his fair share of social media faux pas and developmental disasters too...

10. Taking Six Years To Get To The Main Roster

Many superstars spend longer in WWE's developmental system than they'd prefer, and some even find themselves cast back down after debuting on the main roster (including Ryback himself, who originally debuted as Skip Sheffield, a member of the Nexus invasion in 2010). However, Ryback's original stint in developmental lasted a mammoth six years, from his start as a Tough Enough 2004 contestant to his first Raw appearance in 2010. That's longer than many wrestlers' entire WWE careers - and during that time, he won only one Heavyweight Championship ,which he held for just two weeks!
