10 Things You Didn’t Know About Mickie James
1. Her TNA Record Outside Of Orlando
Right—this one may sound a little long-winded, but bear with me here.
With TNA’s programming being based in Orlando, FL, it makes sense that you’d expect at least one of Mickie’s Knockout Championship wins to have taken place in the Floridian city. Here’s your big twist though; each of Mickie’s three title wins have arrived outside of Orlando.
That may not sound all that notable, but there has only ever been one other multi-time Knockouts Champion who never won a title in Orlando, and that’s Velvet Sky. But Sky only won two titles to Mickie’s three, making the latter’s record all the more noteworthy.
Maybe there's not a great deal of significance to this, other than me thinking it's a cool fact, but then again it does offer a nice little segue back to NXT Takeover: Toronto. The special event will of course be taking place away from the brand’s Full Sail home, meaning that if Mickie is somehow victorious in challenging Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship, she’ll main her current streak of winning gold away from her employer’s usual base.
Then again, you get the feeling it’ll take more than just good omens for Mickie to overcome Asuka…
