10 Things You Didn't Know About Damien Sandow
8. He Joined WWE Far Earlier Than You Might Think
Sandow broke onto WWE's main roster in 2006 under the moniker of Idol Stevens, but actually joined the company far earlier. He signed his first contract with the company in 2002, after impressing in numerous tryout matches against the likes of Raven, Johnny Nitro and Stevie Richards.
He flitted between the main roster, OVW and FCW, - WWE's developmental territories over the years - until ascending to the main roster for good in 2012 under the name and gimmick that would make him famous.
Throughout this latter period, it was easy to look at Sandow as a fresh face on the scene, but he had actually accrued a decade of experience with WWE (and one or two indie promotions) before becoming a familiar figure.
