Dusty Rhodes loved the famous American actor John Wayne as did millions of people who grew up with Wayne as a major film star. Rhodes even referenced him during his famous "Hard Times" promo by comparing himself as a heroic babyface wrestler to the legendary actor. "There were two bad people. One was John Wayne and hes dead brother, and the others right here." Now Dusty has another thing in common because both men died on June 11. Wayne passed away in 1979. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9py4aMK3aIU It's one of those things where there's really nothing positive you want to say about a man dying, but at least you can say Dusty is sharing the date with a man that he admired so much. A lot of wrestling fans grew up idolizing Dusty just like he did with Wayne, so perhaps those two legends are having some kind of wonderful discussion in the afterlife.
