To this day, pro wrestling fans still regard Rick Rude as one of the greatest performers never to be WWE Champion. Making his debut way back in the early-1980's, Rude initially started as a clean cut babyface. It wasn't until the man gained significant muscle mass and created the 'Ravishing' character that he really started to gain momentum. The arrogant, egotistical heel persona was perfect, and helped steer Rick to the then-World Wrestling Federation in 1987. It was there that the man had his most success, certainly from a critical standpoint. Even though Rude had held titles in the NWA and other territories, his work in the WWF is what many fans remember most fondly. Holding the Intercontinental Title on one occasion was his only title win in the company.
