10 Things You Need To Know About NXT's Aleister Black

8. His Unique Style

Black initially ceased his kickboxing training after moving into professional wrestling at 15 years old, but he started back up a few years later. The martial art has since bled over into his in-ring style, and today, Aleister Black might just be the most unique wrestler under WWE employ.

He’s far from the first wrestler to utilise striking as part of his offence, and guys like Hideo Itami and Jack Gallagher already do this to great effect. What separates Black from his colleagues is the sheer variety of strikes he brings to the table, however. As well as the standard repertoire of straightforward low kicks and high knees, he’s just as adept at working vicious elbows and spin kicks into his offence.

Black’s kickboxing background shines through every time he connects, and there’s not an angle he can’t hit his opponents from. He’s far from one dimensional however, and while Black’s prime goal is to turn his matches into hard-hitting strike battles, he’s just as adept on the mat. Furthermore, Black is more than capable of mixing it up in the air too, and often calls upon his athleticism to propel himself at the opponent with a wide variety of springboard and top rope moves.
