6. Ric Flair Announces He Co-Owns The WWF (November 19, 2001)
By the time the entire WCW/ECW 'Invasion' debacle came to a close at the 2001 Survivor Series, it seemed more like a mercy killing. The angle hadn't exactly delighted fans, and in the end things boiled down to Steve Austin vs. The Rock. Both men had been part of the WWF for years, so it wasn't a satisfying conclusion. The next evening on Monday Night Raw, interest was sparked when a genuine WCW legend made his presence felt. Re-debuting in the WWF to confront Vince McMahon, 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair received a huge reaction from the live crowd on November 19, 2001. People wondered why Flair hadn't been part of the Invasion at all, but most were pleased to see him. Grabbing the microphone, Flair announced that he was now co-owner of the World Wrestling Federation. This led to a rivalry against McMahon which peaked with a match at the Royal Rumble and the 'Brand Extension' angle. It was an awesome segment, one during which Flair stole the show and looked thrilled to be in the spotlight again.
