10 Times WWE Accidentally Brought Awful Gimmicks Back From The Dead

Some gimmicks have a built-in glass ceiling. The likes of IRS (taxman), Thurman "Sparky" Plugg (race-car driver) and Val Venis (pornstar) were never going to be world champions due to the inherent silliness of their gimmicks. To that list, we can add Dean Douglas and Ms. McCool (teachers).

Both wrestlers were hobbled out of the gate by a gimmick that was good for nothing except tired puns, such as McCool calling the team she valeted "Teacher's Pets" and Dean Douglas delivering lines like "I'm giving you a D for dismal". Even The Rock would have struggled to get those zingers over, and neither Dean Douglas or Ms. McCool enjoyed much success in the WWE.

Fortunately for Ms. McCool, WWE changed her gimmick and she enjoyed a successful career in the WWE before retiring due to injury. Dean Douglas, on the other hand, fell afoul of both the audience (who hated his gimmick) and the infamous Kliq (who hated him) and was given his marching orders.
