WWE Divas and women performers are a tantalizing bunch: they are athletic, beautiful, and some of them can hold their own in an actual wrestling match. However, the focus of WWE programming has always been about the male performers, and the Divas division mostly gets an unfair shake when it comes to on-screen time. Even the announcers and non-wrestlers get hurt by the bad writing from WWE Creative. There's no sugarcoating it: oftentimes the women of WWE get mistreated, even the most revered and most talented of them. If you think Daniel Bryan is getting unfair treatment from WWE writers, or Dolph Ziggler is getting buried in the storylines due to his frank and truthful interviews, wait until you see how WWE deliberately mistreats it female performers.
10. Lita Being Booked To Have 'Live Sex' On Raw
Lita is one of the most exciting female wrestlers to come into the WWE. That is one reason why she is going into the Hall of Fame in 2014. She can actually wrestle and her high flying ways fit in perfectly when she was the manager of the Hardy Boys. She was also booked to have, uhm, "live sex" on Raw with her on-screen boyfriend, Edge. Somehow, I do understand this. Edge is supposed to be the Rated-R Superstar, and they are building up his character. But does it have to be at Lita's expense? Or to be more general, does it have to be at the expense of the female performers? There are far better ways to build up a character which does not hurt Lita's own persona. Lita is supposed to be the rocker chick: the kind of girl you can't take home to mom, but you want to date anyway because she is just so freakin' cool. She's not your typical sugar but instead a dose of spicy danger. I guess now that they are inducting her into the Hall of Fame, they are trying to make up for making her look like a slut more times than they can count. Lita was a terrific performer in her heyday and its high time she gets the recognition for being the sports entertainer that she is.
