10 Times WWE Did Exactly What The Wrestlers DIDN'T Want

That "Independent Contractor" agreement does not guarantee WWE complying with a wrestler's wishes.

Don’t cross the boss. It’s one of the most important things if you are a WWE employee - and it’s fairly simply to see why. However, no matter how loyal a wrestler is or how much they tow the company line, there is no guarantee WWE will treat them right.

Over the years there have been a number of high profile cases where WWE simply did not care what their talent wanted. It would have been understandable if these were merely cases of management and talent differing on their subjective view of a storyline or something like that. But so often that’s not really what happens.

In the majority of these cases, WWE simply chose to give their hard-working wrestlers the exact opposite of what they wanted, without any real cause or explanation. Any storyline or creative logic provided was threadbare and completely see-through.

With all that being said, let’s rewind this clock a bit and go through some of these well-publicized debacles...

10. The New Day Split Up

As The New Day have said themselves on several occasions, they never wanted to go their separate ways.

Okay, technically they haven't split split, but we still won’t be seeing Big E, Kori Kingston and Xavier Woods gyrating their hips and blasting the trombone together any time soon. Well, it’s WWE, so they’ll probably be back together in two weeks, but you get the point.

While it doesn’t seem like the worst thing in the world by any means, fact remains this is something that the wrestlers themselves and Kofi in particular simply did not want. The New Day are one of the best acts in all of wrestling and you’d always want them to be together. Yes there is the matter of Big E’s push but KofiMania proved that it can be achieved without separating the beloved trio.

Nonetheless Vince decided to send Xavier and Kingston to Raw, including a bizarre title swap with the Street Profits. Kofi may not have wanted this but that’s what he got, pal.
