10 Times WWE Embarrassed Their Own Stars
1. Jim Ross (Repeatedly)
Jim Ross cycled through numerous hats - besides his trademark stetson - during his various WWE tenures: Lead commentator, producer, head of talent relations, even an in-ring performer with a surprisingly healthy 55% win percentage record. But the real role reserved for the Oklahoman was as Vince McMahon's personal punching bag.
Let's tot up the various ways WWE ridiculed one of their most trusted employees: he was set on fire by Kane; made to kiss the foot of squirty co-commentator Michael Cole; made to kiss the ass of McMahon himself; mocked with reference to his Bell's palsy by both men; the target of hot barbecue sauce fired into his face; and, most memorably, the unwilling patient of an on-screen colonoscopy at the gloved hands of 'Dr. Heinie'.
Heck, on night one, Ross was squeezed into a toga and forced to pretend WrestleMania IX wasn't a pile. Maybe everything that followed seemed better by comparison?
