As we have seen the legendary Road Warriors have often been imitated, but never duplicated. The most famous reproduction of the Road Warriors is Demolition, the team of Ax and Smash which have been seen as WWF's answer to the Road Warriors.

During the 1980s, Hawk and Animal were dominating tag team divisions in numerous promotions both in America and Japan, the two would later join the WWF in 1990 however in the meantime Vince McMahon and company decided they wanted Road Warriors of their own. Enter Demolition, a team of face painted badasses dressed like they were straight from a Mad Max movie just like the team they were trying to duplicate.

When Hawk and Animal did make their way to the WWF, it seemed a clash with Ax and Smash was on the cards, and the WWF wasted no time as this feud was ignited immediately. Unfortunately, however, a lineup change within Demolition was forced when Ax had to take some time off due to health issues, he was replaced with Crush although the feud fizzled out shortly after.
