10 Totally Unnecessary WWE Gimmick Changes

6. Karrion Kross (Doom Bringer > Shredder?)

Karrion Kross' story is one that will litter 'X Worst NXT > WWE Main Roster Call Ups' lists for years to come, and with good reason. On NXT, Kross aligned with real-life lover Scarlett to become some sort of doom-bringing sadist who demanded that everybody fall at his feet or be destroyed.

He looked the part, she was a brilliant accompaniment, and their "Fall & Pray" entrance theme was f*cking bad ass. The satanic undertones helped too, and everything seemed to be falling into place for Kross. He had a ready-made gimmick ready to go once WWE called him up to Raw or SmackDown.

They botched it spectacularly.

Karrion debuted sans Scarlett in July 2021, then reinvented himself by dressing like Shredder from TMNT. It was either that or bad Demolition cosplay - few could tell. As if that wasn't annoying enough, Kross then turned into a soft retelling of Sean O'Haire's old devil's advocate guise, but WWE failed to flesh it out before releasing him.
