10 Underrated Stars That WWE Should Never Have Released

10. Evan Bourne

A high-flyer almost on a par with the incredible Neville, and certainly the equal of any other in the WWE's history, Matthew 'Evan Bourne' Korklan debuted in WWE on June 3rd 2008 and immediately impressed with his fluid movement inside the squired circle.

Sadly, Korklan would break his foot in four places and dislocate it in five places in a car accident in March 2012. I didn't even think you could dislocate your foot in five places, never mind break it in a further four places, but that's the fate that befell Bourne. That may be legitimately the worst thing I can ever imagine happening to a foot.

Korklan would reappear in NXT a year later in competition with Sami Zayn, but a return to the main roster never materialised, and fifteen months after that he was released from his contract, WWE clearly deciding they had no idea how to reintroduce him to their programming.

Korklan, now back to performing under his previous name of Matt Sydal, is currently an indie sensation. Given that there were no hard feelings involved in his release, one would assume that the door will be open at a later date should WWE decide to give Evan Bourne another run.
