10 Most Unusual Wrestling Injuries Ever

9. Goldberg Helps To End Bret Hart's Career

The end of Bret Hart's in-ring career was either an accident, or the result of an untalented worker, depending on how you look at things and what your opinions of his opponent are, but it really helped to open the eyes of the wrestling business when it comes to concussions and head injuries. At 1999's Starrcade event, Bret faced off against Goldberg. One Goldberg thrust kick to the head later, and Bret was on the receiving end of a serious concussion. Unaware of his injury, Bret continued to wrestle, and would do so in days following the Starrcade match. Bret would also hit his head on the concrete floor attempting a Figure-Four Leglock on the ring post, a move we have seen him do on numerous occasions. Concussions aren't anything new in wrestling. There were plenty of them before Bret Hart suffered one, and there have been plenty of them since Bret Hart suffered one, but for the career of one of the business' all-time greats to come to a sudden and abrupt end because of, essentially, one move.
