10 Ups & 1 Down From NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day

4. Right Winner Take Two

Johnny Gargano North American Title

As good as Kushida's performance was, Gargano still had to win.

Being honest, it's going to take more than one cracker of a match for Kushida to really hit the heights he's definitely capable of on NXT consistently. Character-wise, Johnny remains the much more interesting performer. He's a phenomenal heel, and even better when he's in a giving mood bell-to-bell.

Gargano taking that 'W' was the right decision. That North American Title fits snugly around 'Johnny TakeOver's' waist, and it shouldn't leave there for a very long time. Seriously, there's no need to book some sudden title change for the rest of this year.

Is that a bold statement? Hardly when the guy is this talented. Gargano feels at home on NXT, is delivering some of his best stuff as a villain, enhances titles when he has them and should be a brand linchpin for the remainder of 2021.
