10 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Apr 8)

9. So Many Vignettes

A boatload of vignettes on last night's AEW Dynamite, and all of them hit the right notes.

We got two centered around the Jon Moxley vs. Jake Hager match (more on those later), a roundup video covering the latest set of rankings (why don't they do this every week?), a Young Bucks origin piece, and a TNT Championship Tournament ensemble with some great stuff on Shawn Spears in particular. We're not quite at WWE levels of cinematic brilliance here, but AEW nailed these things regardless.

Throwing lots of video packages around is a great idea at the moment. With empty arena shows wearing thin, it's vital that wrestling promotions come up with content that isn't so reliant on live crowds. These most certainly aren't and while the increased volumes are largely down to the ongoing global crisis, here's hoping AEW keeps churning them out once this all blows over: they're pretty great at producing them.
