10 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Sept 25)

7. It's A Mystery

A cheeky little dig this, but one that wasn't without merit within the body of the show too.

Kushida's ongoing feud with Imperium resulted in the 'Timesplitter' looking for two partners to take on Walter's colleagues Marcel Barthel, Fabian Aichner and Alexander Wolfe in the evening's main event.

As a promotional tool for the second hour, this stood a decent chance of convincing viewers to jump over to the WWE Network for the second hour. As a sly stab at All Elite Wrestling's Dynamite main event, this was well-placed.

The heat is on the opposition to deliver two huge partners for Chris Jericho against The Elite in the show's headliner. It's been a key tease, just as it was here. Fortunately for NXT, they weren't under near the same pressure for the payoff.
