Steve Blackman was known as the "Lethal Weapon" because of his skills as a fighter. He was never known for his work as an actor. Even though he was a part of WWE during the Attitude Era, it was rare to see Blackman acting in a backstage vignette or delivering a promo. They tried to give him some personality when they paired him up with Al Snow, who was known as a silly performer. Together the team formed "Head Cheese" although it wasn't something that lasted too long. There were a lot of skits between Snow & Blackman where they noted that Blackman didn't have much of a personality, so Snow tried to help him with it. Most of the segments were painfully bad because having Blackman act like the straight man in a comedy bit wasn't unnatural to him since that's what he was normally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKSiChEuTng When Blackman was in the ring he was fine. However, when you watch promos like the one above it shows just how limited he was when it came to talking. He didn't even look into the camera to cut that backstage promo. Fans could never really rally around a guy like him even when they tried to make him funny.
