10 Worst WWE Matches Of 2021 (So Far)

9. Asuka Vs. Alexa Bliss (Monday Night Raw, January 25th)

At the very beginning of the pandemic, Alexa Bliss and Asuka had an extremely good match inside the desolate empty Performance Center as part of SmackDown's build to a WrestleMania women's tag team title match.

It brings your writer no joy to report that, just under a year on from those darkest of times, the pair assembled not one but two matches worthy of a place on the opposite side of the ledger.

Having defeated Asuka one week prior, Bliss was giving the 'Empress Of Tomorrow' what felt like a competitive fight until the contest was yet again completely overwhelmed by hokey stupidity.

Morphing in broad f*cking daylight, Bliss sold shots in the corner as her current self, before suddenly appearing in her old attire, weeping. That wasn't given much time to breathe before the lights went out, triggering the arrival of a third, darker persona that had decimated Asuka seven days earlier.

Yet again, inconsistency with what exact magic powers she had destroyed any attempt to suspend disbelief, but WWE weren't committing to a finish, let alone that. A laughably made-up Randy Orton appeared and struck Bliss with an RKO, taking revenge for a Bliss fireball attack.
